Our pregnancy care is provided as a comprehensive package of specialist obstetric care, rather than as individual fees for each consultation, visit or procedure.

Current fee $8000 (Patients with an EDD before 1 May 2027) for patients who are eligible for publicly funded maternity care in New Zealand.

New fee $8500 (Patients with an EDD on or after 1 May 2027) for patients who are eligible for publicly funded maternity care in New Zealand.

The new fee applies according to the baby’s estimated due date (EDD), rather than the date the patient first contacts or registers with AOC.

A separate fee applies to patients who are not eligible for publicly funded maternity care. Please contact us for further information.

Why are our fees changing?

Our fees are reviewed periodically to ensure they continue to appropriately reflect the level and scope of specialist care provided throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period.

We are committed to providing clear information about our fees so that patients can make an informed decision about their maternity care before commencing with AOC.

Patients who have already commenced their pregnancy care with AOC will continue under the fee arrangements that were agreed with them at the commencement of their care.

This fee covers a complete package of pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care.

The package includes:

Specialist antenatal care throughout pregnancy
Antenatal consultations and monitoring
Emergency 24-hour, 7-day specialist obstetric on-call availability
Labour and delivery attendance by the specialist obstetrician
Delivery by vaginal birth or caesarean section where clinically required
Specialist postnatal care
Postnatal midwifery care
Six-week postnatal consultation and discharge review for mother and baby

The package is designed to provide continuity of specialist care throughout the pregnancy. It is not calculated by the number of appointments attended or by the type of delivery.

Pregnancy scans are completed through a radiology clinic of your choice. Scan costs vary depending on your chosen radiology provider and are additional to AOC fees.

Full payment is required at the first visit; however, for convenience, the total fee may be paid in five instalments across the pregnancy. Please let us know whether you would prefer to pay in full or by instalments.

The $8,500 fee may be paid in full or split into five instalments:

·         $1000 at your first visit, usually between 10.3–11 weeks

·         $1,875 at 14 weeks

·         $1,875 at 22 weeks

·         $1,875 at 28 weeks

·         $1,875 at 32 weeks

All fees must be paid in full before delivery.

Instalments are offered for convenience and are not separate or itemised charges. The $8,500 fee covers the complete package of care, with payments spread across the pregnancy. Invoices are issued automatically one week before the due date, calculated based on your confirmed estimated due date, and cannot be adjusted.

Our preferred payment methods are bank transfer or credit card. We do not apply credit card surcharges.

This is an optional test available for $650 which screens for chromosome conditions such as Down Syndrome. The blood sample is sent to Victorian Clinical Genetic Services (VCGS) in Australia and is performed after 10.3 weeks. For more information around this testing please

Clients are responsible for confirming the extent of their insurance cover, including whether private obstetric care is included under their policy. Coverage and reimbursement are determined solely by the insurer and the terms of the individual policy.

Our fees are charged in accordance with our published care package, and invoices cannot be amended, split, or reissued to alter the nature of the services provided.
